we share with you the story of a Nigerian mum who is working at home and doing great! Be motivated and enjoy!
My name is Felicia Egbuche and I used to be a school teacher. I love to teach but then I couldn’t get used to the way Nigerian employers treat their staff. I took in for my first child and three months into that I finally kicked white collar jobs to the curb. Asides that, I really wanted to get into turning my passions into a full time business.
I have 2 children, they are 2 years and 9 months old. My time table dailyis like this:
I get up by 7am to prepare my first child for school and he’s off by 8am. Afterwards I tend to his younger brother, bathe, feed and nap. Then I start on my day’s task, be it making a wig, working on a blog post or on my two business social media pages. I try to achieve one or two tasks a day before I have to go pick up my son.
I have a nanny and she sweeps everyday, mops (2 times a week), wash dishes, iron kids clothes (once a week), bathe and dresses up my first child while I prepare his lunch.
I have 2 businesses; Makeovers (hair and makeup), wig making/training @niftychicstudiosand an online kitchenware/ souvenir shop @naijakitchenshop. I also blog at www.niftynobby.wordpress.com
My advice to new stay at home mums is this:
Keep a schedule, you would get a lot done that way. Fit in your wife/mom activities and personal growth activities into your daily schedule. You can also work from home, there are various businesses you can do from home to earn some extra cash.
